We are looking for a full-time, 40 hours per week family practice physician to provide primary care services onsite at our community health clinic. 

GENERAL DUTIES INCLUDE: 

  1. Render diagnostic treatment, consultation, referral and emergency and other services to patients of all ages and conditions.
  2. Completing charting and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  3. Demonstrates the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrative knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  4. Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.
  5. Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.
  6. Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues.
  7. Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
  8. Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance), JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), and state regulatory standards.
  9. Facilitates evaluation of records by physician(s), peers, and Quality and Standards according to protocols, and receives and implements constructive directives.
  10. Works in community outreach functions such as D.A.R.E.; Clinic on Wheels school and public events; member of team facilitating Tobacco Cessation groups
  11. Participates in chart reviews and audits
  12. Render diagnostic treatment, consultation, referral and emergency and other services to persons serviced
  13. Develop, review, up-date medical protocols in conjunction with other medical staff.
  14. Responsible for continuity of patient care, referrals for specialty care, patient placement and utilizing community resources.
  15. Assist the medical director in maintaining, reviewing and up-dating medical policies and procedures.
  16. Assist and prepare for the program review by funders including the Indian Health Services, State Indian Health Program, Local Managed Care program.
  17. Participate in committees such as Quality Improvement committees.
  18. Provide in service education with staff as needed.
  19. Cultivate a knowledge and understanding of Native American culture.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PREREQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Graduate of an accredited medical school
  2. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of California
  3. Prefer Board Certification
  4. Prefer experience in an Indian Health Care or community health care setting.
  5. Spanish speaking is preferred but not required. 

Salary Range is $270,400 – $329,929. Starting Salary will be based on experience and skills. This is an exempt position and does not qualify for overtime.
