ACCREDITED BY THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE
Our community health center employs approximately seventy full-time staff members in its Medical, Dental, Pediatric and Behavioral Health programs in order to deliver quality healthcare through the industry-leading Patient Centered Medical Home model established by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. We are accredited by the NCQA for meeting its highest Level III standard.
REDUCING THE BURDEN ON LOCAL HOSPITALS
Our Level III Patient Centered Medical Home increases health outcomes for patients and reduces the need for non-critical visits to area hospitals and emergency rooms. We provide the community with same-day access to our primary care physicians, specialists and counselors and certain after-hours telephone access for triage to Urgent Care or the ER. Our dedicated medical staff track and coordinate patient care between physicians and specialists and outside care such as pharmacies and hospitals.
MEDICAL AND PEDIATRIC DEPARTMENTS
Our Medical and Pediatric Departments employ three full-time, primary care physicians that are board certified in family medicine and two full-time, board certified pediatricians. AIHS pediatricians provide the full range of pediatric care, from well-child screenings and immunizations to the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. We also employ a part-time Otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) and three mid-levels (two Nurse Practitioners and one Physician Assistant). Our staff also consists of a nutritionist who provides healthy diet counseling and diabetes education. Last year, AIHS had approximately 15,000 children visits and administered approximately 4,000 free or low-cost immunizations to our community. AIHS provides a wide range of dental services to our community including routine preventative care, exams, x-rays, teeth cleanings, sealants, extractions, crowns and fillings. Our Dental Department is staffed with seven full-time dentists including a full-time Endodontist that specializes in root canals and high trauma surgery. We have an otolaryngologist to manage specialty diseases involving the ears, nose and throat and we employ dentists who address early childhood dental needs. AIHS accepts Medi-Cal and CenCal for adults and children. We also apply a sliding-fee scale discount (based on income) for restorative services to all low-income families. To make an appointment, please call us at (805) 696-1002.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Our Behavioral Health Department is staffed by two full-time, licensed clinical social workers and two part-time psychologists to provide integrated mental health services for our patients. Our mental health professionals remain available to the Medical, Pediatric and Dental departments should a patient require immediate counseling or referral. Our medical providers and mental health professions work collaboratively to tailor treatment plans that contemplate the whole person: mind, body and spirit.
